What is the National Professional Qualification in Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators (NPQSENCO)?
The NPQSENCO is the newest programme released by the DfE. The programme is designed to support SENCOs and Teachers in becoming expert leaders of special educational needs learning how you can build an inclusive culture in your school where all pupils can succeed. This course begins in Autumn 2024 and replaces the NASENCO qualification.
Our Lead Provider for the NPQSENCo Programme is Teach First.

NPQSENCO is designed for:
• Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators
• School Leaders
• Other teachers interested in developing expertise in SEND or undertaking the SENCO role in the future
What is the time commitment?
This course will:
• Take 18 months to complete
• Involve an average of 1 to 2 hours of study each week
• Be a mix of self-study and group sessions
What is the time course structure?
The course includes:
• Independent study
• Group coaching
• Face-to-face sessions with other participants
